African Journals OnLine (AJOL) began in May 1998 as a pilot project managed by
INASP. Its promotes awareness and use of African-published journals in the sciences by providing access to tables of contents (TOCs) and abstracts on the Internet, backed by a paper-based document delivery service. INASP is also able to supply print subscriptions to institutes within PERI countries.
